Cyclist in critical condition after being struck by car in Longueuil

A cyclist in his 50s was hospitalized in critical condition Monday after being involved in an accident with a car in Longueuil Sunday night.

The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Chambly Rd. near Benoit St.

Local police said the cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident. The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was sent to a hospital to be treated for shock.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
