A fire that started inside a dryer of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre forced dozens of scientists to leave the building Wednesday morning.
The MUHC declared a Code Red at the Glen site in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce at 9:20 a.m.
“The smoke from the fire set off sprinklers, which caused flooding in Bloc E. The entire building was evacuated as a precaution, and the fire department was called to the site to ensure the situation was under control,” the MUHC said in a statement.
“No one was injured during the incident, and the areas affected are still being assessed.”
