Flooding

The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a commemorative loonie Tuesday to mark what it called a key milestone for lesbian, gay, transgender, queer and two-spirited people, with the government saying the coin symbolized progress while highlighting the work that still needs to be done to advance equality. Having to deal with a man who has harassed her for years has made learning the job of being the mayor of Montreal’s largest borough more difficult, Côte-des-Neiges—Notre Dame-de-Grâce Mayor Sue Montgomery said during Robert “Robin” Edgar’s trial on Tuesday. More here.

Comedy

Just for Laughs has lured another comedy superstar to town — but for a show after this year’s festival. Sebastian Maniscalco, who has made his mark at festivals past, hits the Bell Centre Nov. 15 on his You Bother Me North American tour, which launches in September. More here.
