Pedestrian badly injured after being hit by truck in Pierrefonds-Roxboro

A 18-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck Tuesday in the West Island.

The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jacques Bizard Blvd. and Gouin St. Police say the 57-year-old driver of the pickup truck was headed south on Jacques Bizard Blvd. when he collided with the pedestrian crossing at Gouin St.

Investigators were at the scene early Tuesday in hopes of determining the cause of the collision. The victim remains in hospital with “very serious” injuries, according to police.
